Control Theory (TSRT09)
Objective:
The course will provide methodological tools for understanding the basic properties of multivariable and nonlinear control system subject to disturbances. It also aims to teach the most common feedback synthesis methods and the related computer tools.
Course content:
- Multivariable (MIMO = Multi Input Multi Output) linear systems. Properties and analysis methods. Disturbance models and Kalman filter.
- Control design for linear systems. Closed loop and controller structure. Regulator synthesis: LQ, H2, and Hinf. Fundamental limitations.
- Nonlinear control theory. Analysis methods: stability, phase plane analysis, and oscillations. Regulator design: Jacobian and exact linearization.
