TSEK37 Analog CMOS Integrated Circuits
Course content
The course will focus on the following topics:
- Overview of advanced CMOS technologies
- Modeling of MOS transistors and passive elements
- Circuit analysis as well as design and simulation strategies required to evaluate analog CMOS integrated circuits
- In-depth analysis of several multipurpose analog amplifier circuits
- DC and low frequency analysis
- Frequency response and high frequency circuit analysis
- Feedback and stability analysis
- On-chip interconnects design and I/O interface circuits
- Introduction to oscillator design
- On-chip timing and synchronization techniques, including detailed studies on clock generators, clock distribution networks, and clocking elements
- phase-locked-loops (PLL) and delay-locked-loops (DLL) for on-chip clock generation, timing, and synchronization
- Analysis of on-chip power consumption, low power circuit techniques, transistor leakage currents, and leakage current reduction techniques for both active and standby operating modes
- On-chip power delivery and management, including power distribution and power delivery techniques
- Overview of chip manufacturing requirements such as product yield and product reliability, as well as chip testing methodologies
